I loaded 3800 songs (160Kbps) on a 16gb Micro Cruzer. How long should it have to cease reading the flash bulldoze and kickoff playing? Information technology searched for a half hour without success and I ended up corrupting some files. I tried moving these songs into 475 song folders and failed to go results that manner either. I had previously been able to play songs off the same drive at 302Kbps with success, though the drive was not loaded up with that many songs.
Question;
Should it take this long to read this drive (considering of so many songs)?
Does information technology not like 160Kbps (128Kbps worked on smaller numbers)?
Should I go multiple 2gb flash drives (what a hurting)?

I had a dream of never having to change disc anymore but...

I have an 8GB bulldoze that works fine, and quickly. By take chances, did you re-format your USB drive?

I have a 32GB drive, nothing special, with music sorted in folders past genre, artist and album. Most 250 CDs ripped at 128kbs. It generally takes less than 30 seconds to browse the bulldoze and start playing.

Getting familiar with the group...
Yous may have one or more corrupt files or very big files. I ran into this as well and reported it to Hyudai after I found the root cause of the problem then they tin assistance others with the trouble. I would commencement search for anything on the drive that was in excess of 10MG and delete those files. If that doesn't gear up it, a file is decadent. I would reformat the drive according the intructions in the owners manual and get-go with a smaller set of music, and so add to it until yous notice the trouble.

I bought a new 32GB bulldoze (Corsair Flash Voyager). I'm going to put all 320Kbps files on information technology. (All these files were created from my own CD collection).

No, I did not re-format the drive. I'm wondering if "Launch U3" that comes on the Micro Cruzer bulldoze has dislocated Genny.

Wordman
That's just how I thought it should piece of work.

No instruction booklets come with these drives, so I have no idea how the format them. I tried formatting an external difficult bulldoze in one case and trashed information technology. You mentioned files existence larger than 10MG. Did you mean MB (I hope not, 'cause that'southward not even a five minute vocal). I'll endeavour slowly adding files and see how that works out.

Thanks for the responses

Mine doesn't have the Launch U3 software, so I would try removing that - it's non as if yous demand it in this application. But don't just try to erase the folder - I tried that with the stick I bought for Prepare Boost on my Vista PC. Bad move - could non get rid of information technology subsequently that. There's a mode of deleting the Launch U3 software correctly - if I hadn't screwed it upwards myself, I could tell you how.

That Launch U3 matter is a cancer. I deleted it, but when salesman at Micro Eye plugged the drive in it was at that place (must be a hidden file). Promise the new bulldoze works.

No, I did not re-format the drive. I'yard wondering if "Launch U3" that comes on the Micro Cruzer drive has confused Genny.

Try re-formatting your bulldoze, before you put music on it. Put information technology in your PC, and using Windows Explorer, right click the drive letter. Select Format, use the default settings, making certain the "file system" is FAT32, the "volume label" is GENESIS, and "quick format" is NOT checked. Should be proficient to go then.

USB reading flash drive (Final results)

Flash Drive: 32GB Corsair Voyager
(Toll: $50.00 afterwards $xxx.00 rebate @ Micro Eye)
29GB, 3754 MP3 files (320Kbps) loaded on drive.
Largest file: 55,245KB (23:34 duration)

It takes at to the lowest degree a minute, if not ii, for the bulldoze to be scanned earlier the first selection plays. There is a long delay in betwixt the outset v selections (I retrieve information technology was still scanning), so plays continuously thereafter. When i removed the drive (simply practice this while the car is off) and so reinserted information technology (merely do this while the car is on) information technology knew what the terminal pick and where it was in that selection. It sounds good and information technology would be a lot of disc irresolute if CD's were used.
In that location are issues however. Showtime, the long scan time (this happens when I beginning out to work in the morning and when I leave to go home). I may try using four 8GB drives to run across if this volition alleviate this effect. Next, I started the car and had to shutdown within a minute (I'll be posting about this soon) and when I restarted it showed that no USB device was there.

At that place is a fairly wide variation in transfer speeds among USB drives. I would read the Newegg.com user reviews carefully before choosing, since apparently the audio system has to read all the folders before it starts to play annihilation.

Go Here to download the programme to remove the U3 software.

Just put virtually 1,000 songs onto my new 16GB Flash drive, plugged it into the usb port and Sweet! It sounds slap-up to my surprise. I thought that I might take to redo all of my music to a higher quality format, but information technology sounds like CD quality.

Goodbye CD's!:)

But got the Genny Tuesday (mmmmm) and HAD to test the jams immediately....grabbed a flash with lots of business concern docs, scans, spreadsheets, jpgs etc already on it...threw on Hole'due south "Nobody's Daughter" (MP3/320 CBR/MP3 Gain Sound Leveled at 89.9)....don't ask, it was but handy....and, though not typically the type of recording that has the ambience of,say, a alive club recording of a jazz trio, I COULD still sense the "air" around the recording....was quite startled as I don't even get that from my very decent home system.....that's my initial impression....will exist testing it fully (random play, etc.) and will report. But, the wink appears to be the way to get.

I apply a 16gig (nearly full) MP3 at 320k and wow does information technology produce keen sound and has all artist info etc.

Y'all can't take the music from ITunes and put them to the car. Apple tree is M4A format and most of the world is MP3 (Genesis). I deleted ITunes and at present merely employ windows for my music histrion etc. Now I can plug my USB to my computer and upload songs to the USB stick and plug it back into the automobile and it'due south perfect:)

Hasn't posted much yet...
I have a western digital 320 gig usb passbook that so far has worked smashing.

I accept all songs sorted in artist folders and mp3 format.

I have then made playlist folders.

On start information technology takes nigh 30 seconds and doesnt always retrieve to resume random play.

Those are the only issues. I can still put a lot more music and I have threescore gigs already.

The music on the tech parcel is unreal

Dandydon: Yous cannot load mp3s onto the onboard hard drive, though yous may have assumed, like many of us, that it was possible. But, you can still play the mp3s (and navigate them) by simply plugging the flashdrive into the usb port...takes a few seconds to browse the files depending on how many mp3s y'all have on your bulldoze....
